My 2016 season is now officially underway with a decent couple of results and a major new sponsor backing me. So, firstly I would like to thank Hoyt for recognising my achievements to date and welcoming me on to their Pro Staff team - it's a great privilege and a thrilling start to 2016. I hope I can continue to provide results and promote your excellent products for a long time to come.
The season kicked off for me outdoors with a 1440 round at Meriden in the Midlands. What is generally regarded as an excellent and sheltered field for high scoring was on this day a cold blustery one where everybody struggled. I didn't feel I handled the wind very well and was surprised at managing to finish 4th overall. So, a decent result at the end of a difficult day.
Then a week later came the customary double 1440 at Chippenham. Again, a cold, blustery but this time muddy day resulted in me being placed 2nd overall. Day 2 turned out to be a beautiful day weatherwise and a pleasure to shoot in. Given the exertions of the day before, I didn't quite take full advantage of the benign conditions but did mark up a reasonable 1370 for the day which saw me retain 2nd place by a couple of points and just a few points down on the overall winner. Some form issues to work on in the coming weeks, but generally a good start to the season and a couple of Grand Master Bowman scores in the bag to boot.
