Very successful weekend at the British Target Champs which included the Home Nation competition. Shot a 1368 (703 short metric pb and 347 50m pb) on Day1 and was part of the winning England compound team. England also won the recurve trophy. Struggled a little in the breeze Sunday to shoot a rather disappointing 90m, which dropped me to 10th. Then seemed to get my act together to shoot a decent FITA of 1360 during a progressively more breezy afternoon which saw me claw my way into 5th position overall. As the BTC was the final stage of the National Series event, placing 5th should see me finish with quite a respectable final position in the National Series standings. So overall a very successful and rewarding weekend.

Wow - what a hard hard weekend at the National Series Oxford FITA. Mostly dry, but blustery wind for both days. Shot a 667 in the 50m qualifier to finish 10th. After a bye, won my first match but lost my second to John Stubbs on a single arrow shoot off. Day 2 was the hardest FITA I've shot to date - constant blustery crosswind. For every arrow shot I probably had to come down at least once. Finished with 1305 which given the conditions I was really pleased with even though it's my lowest FITA score since 2011! Now I just need to sleep for a couple of days to recover from what feels like a hangover even though I didn't drink...
